NEW CATEGORIES ON SEARCHBC.COM (Feb 19, 1999)

As part of an ongoing process to continually improve and develop their service, SearchBC.com has installed a comprehensive category upgrade to their search engine. This improvement provides a more comprehensive and contemporary main category and subcategory list for users submitting their web sites for indexing. This change also makes it easier for SearchBC users to navigate categories to find the information that they're looking for.
"We went through hundreds of user comments and suggestions regarding categories" says SearchBC director Steve Hemenway. "The feedback that we received help us to to streamline the submission process and develop more relevant categories. Majority of the new categories are suggestions from our submitters. This feedback helps us make a better service for everyone including people promoting web sites and people looking for web sites".
Web sites currently indexed on SearchBC can take advantage of the new category assignments by reviewing and adjusting their current listing found at the new SearchBC Editor page found at http://www.searchbc.com/edit/.
